Kitchen Diaries: Summer Experiments

It was the height of summer. I stood in the garden early one morning trying to dodge the worst of the heat and humidity to get a handle on my overgrown cherry tomato plant. When you leave a tomato plant to its own devices, it turns into a tangle of foliage and stems.
