This morning, I booked my first flight of the year to travel to Foeder for Thought, a fermentation-forward beer festival hosted at Green Bench Brewing in St. Pete, Florida.
I enjoy this festival because it combines drinking with education. My goal this year is to travel more for beer events, which is something I haven’t done as much I’d like to.
Second the FOBAB recommendations, and would also add Firestone Walker Invitational! I haven't been in a few years now but it was a great vibe and a stellar line-up of breweries the couple times I attended.
After moving out of Chicago a few years ago, I still return every November for FoBAB. It's a lot more than just big stouts and barleywines -- there are a ton of wild beers, ciders, a growing number of lagers and more. It's a great way to experience some of the most creative beers being created right now. (Strongly considering finally returning to Denver for GABF this year also.)
